Who can particpate this Summer?

Everyone ages 16-25!

This is a Minimum of 10-Hours Per week, during working hours. What will you do?

1. Learn real job skills and experience working with your Job Mentor. Approximately 4-8 hours weekly. Changes to your schedule will also be considered for more or less work hours. If you want to work at another job, you can, however it should not conflict with the program.

2. Learn everything your Job Mentor does in their business. How do they run their business? What tools do they used? How do they interact with their customers. How do they fix problems that arise when they are working?

3. Attend and participate in a structured 1-hour Learning Session each week to learn about new digital tools - like ChatGPT and Data Analysis - that will better prepare you for your future.

4. Attend a weekly Check-In (approximately a half-hour) with your matched Taproot AI Mentor (either in-person or on Zoom).

5. At the end of the summer, you will complete a final project (worked on in Learning Sessions) to use your newly aquired skills to help your Job Mentor be better equipped for the future of work. This is a unqiue expereince that give you on the job training and helps you understand if this work is something you would consider in the future as a career. You will be learning these skills in YOUR community and creating opportunities for a meaninful, long-term careers in your hometown.

Will I get paid?

1. YES! You will recieved minium wage per hour of $7.25 for each hour your work with your Job Mentor. You will be paid every two weeks by Taproot AI on behalf of your Job Mentor. You will submit a weekly timecard that must be confirmed by your Job Mentor. Furthermore, our staff will help you setup direct deposit and fill out any governmental forms.

2. Weekly 1-Hour Learning Sessions and Half-Hour Weekly Check-Ins with the Taproot AI staff are not paid.

3. Learning sessions are educational and meant to help you understand some of the opportunities and challenges your fellow participants are having in their job experiences. Time will also be spent working through new tools that will help prepare you for your future as you enter the workforce and beyond! The Half-Hour Weekly Check-Ins with your personal Taproot AI Mentor are designed to be a private conversation where you can ask any questions you may not feel comfortable sharing with your peers or Job Mentors.

I'm ready to apply! What happens next?

1. Sumbit your application below! Rank your choices between 1-3. We will do our best to accomodate your requests but we cannot guareantee it. You be contacted if that happens.

2. Attend at least 1 or 2 (or both) informational meetings, with the date to be announced. If you are under 18, you must attend with at least 1 parent or guardian. If you want to change your mind after attending this session, that is allowed.

3. You will go through 2 interviews. One with the Taproot AI staff to determine your interest and suitability for this summer internship. At that time we will discuss any concerns you may and we will narrow down to your top 2 choices. If you are under 18, your parents will also be contacted to confirm your participation. The second interviews will be with your prospective Job Mentors and the Taproot AI staff.

4. Get your acceptance to the program! For the summer of 2026 - we are hoping to place a minimum of 12 Leaners with their Job Mentors!

5. Make an appoint to connect with Taproot AI staff to fill out any necessary payroll forms. Then, attend any required saftey course(s) prior to the start of the internship program. Always emember: Saftey First!!!
